Jack of All Trades at The Springs

Jack of All Trades at The Springs

She’s a self-professed ‘jack of all trades and master of none.’ As the Administrative Assistant at The Springs Healthcare and Rehab at Monarch Landing senior living community in Naperville, Fran Otte takes on a little bit of a lot of different tasks and responsibilities. It all adds up to a busy, productive, and essential role that she impressively fills. “Fran has boundless energy. She’s always ready to do anything for our residents or staff,” said Beth VanDerWal, Administrator at The Springs.

Before joining the team at The Springs, Fran worked for nine years in an area senior living community. “I like working with people and ensuring they’re taken care of, especially elderly people. A lot of people want to work with children; I fell in love working with seniors,” she said, Fran started her job at The Springs in October and, after almost six months, said, “I love, love, love working here. I really love being here. The team is unbelievable; they really are like family. We all really love and care for the residents. The team supports each other and steps forward to do what needs to be done, whether or not it’s actually in their job description. It’s a great atmosphere.”

She fit right in. “When she joined the team, she was immediately like family. You can always see a smile even behind the mask,” said Beth.

As the Administrative Assistant at The Springs, Fran said, she helps create and coordinate communications, admissions paperwork, items for the dietary department, “a little bit of everything.”

“Fran is the first person people see when they come into The Springs, and she sets the tone for the whole experience here. We lucked out with her,” said Beth.
