Leader At Monarch Landing Promoted To New Role 1

Kelli Cox, The Director of Resident Life and Wellness, was promoted to Associate Executive Director.

Since day one in her professional life, Kelli Cox has always sought to keep her career evolving. Consequently, as an experienced leader in senior living, Kelli was perfectly well suited for her latest role. The Director of Resident Life and Wellness at Monarch Landing senior living community in Naperville was promoted to Associate Executive Director. In the role created for her, she will help lead, oversee, and coordinate operations at Monarch Landing.

Mark Trnka, Executive Director of Monarch Landing, said that Kelli is the perfect fit for the new position. “She has a high level of experience and passion for senior living,” said Mark. “She’s been serving seniors for her entire career. She’s very proactive, a great leader, and is accomplished at getting things done. She’s a great person to work with.”

Kelli began volunteering at a nursing home while in college, earning her bachelor’s degree in sociology and master’s in healthcare administration. During her 20+ year career, she’s worked as a case manager, volunteer coordinator, director of resident and family services and executive director for senior living communities. She has also run a concierge service assisting seniors and earned her real estate broker’s license, becoming certified as a senior real estate specialist. As the Director of Resident Life and Wellness since coming to Monarch Landing in February of 2021, Kelli has overseen the social workers, concierge, and staff in community life, activities, and spiritual wellness.

Mark said that Kelli taking on additional leadership responsibilities in her new role, will provide him with the needed support to focus on special projects with the senior living community’s management company, Life Care Services (LCS). “As one of three LCS communities designated as a Center for Excellence, Monarch Landing is helping to test, explore and evaluate processes, partnerships and initiatives which will enhance efficiency and effectiveness and reduce costs at senior living communities. Being part of the Center for Excellence program helps us explore different ways of doing things that benefit the community and the organization,” said Mark. “Having Kelli in the new role allows me to focus more on driving cutting edge solutions that provide extraordinary experiences for our residents.”

Furthermore, he added, “Kelli’s promotion also shows our commitment to providing the opportunity for growth among our staff. We try to create steps creating career paths in our ranks across all positions. Not only will Kelli help with that, but she’s also a great role model.”
